Cleaning my room…

I’m going through a set of drawers I probably haven’t gone through in 7 years… There is a writing that I have been looking for at least 2 years that I found today in one of those drawers.. Here is the passage (one of my favorites.. EVER):

Community is like a large mosaic. Each little piece seems so insignificant. One piece is bright red, another cold blue or dull green, another warm purple, another sharp yellow, another shining gold. Some look precious, others ordinary. Some look valuable, others worthless. Some look gaudy, others delicate. As individual stones, we can do little with them except compare them and judge their beauty and value. When, however, all these little stones are brought together in one big mosaic portraying the face of Christ, who would ever question the importance of any one of them? If one of them, even the least spectacular one, is missing, the face is incomplete. Together in the one mosaic, each little stone is indispensable and makes a unique contribution to the glory of God. That’s community, a fellowship of little people who together make God visible in the world. —Henri Houwen

Gosh, I forgot how much I liked reading that.  In a perfect world, it would truly be like that..

Ok.. back to cleaning… I really have too many clothes.  And white t-shirts????? I think I have found about 25 so far..

  1. “I really have too many clothes. And white t-shirts????? I think I have found about 25 so far..”

But, at our house the other day you said (and I quote), “You can never have too many white t-shirts I always say.”

So, somewhere between the 1 that you were wearing that night and the 25 you just found, there is a limit to “too many”.

  2. Well, a lot of the ones that I found are way too big now for obvious reasons.. or they are stained, etc…but I probably still have 20 or so usable white t-shirts.. 🙂

  3. That quote was awesome!! I read it a few times. It will go on my list of favorites. Thanks Leslie!

  4. Sometimes…

  5. what do you mean “sometimes”?
