I worked last night.. so, what happens when I get home is that I eat some breakfast, take a shower, and then curl into a little ball on the sofa and sleep soundly for the next 4 hours (actually, I’m fine if I get 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep)…. Well, unfortunately, my stupid apartment complex (which, I USUALLY LOVE) is replacing the roof on all 14 buildings… I SWEAR that they did my building last week…. I was wrong… it’s today. I’ve had noisy forklifts and men on the roof…. How long does this all take?????? It’s driving me insane.
It’s 1pm and I think I probably only slept for 2 hours…. I’m half tempted to get up and go to a movie so I can fall asleep in the movie theatre. I do need to get up…. shoe sale at Macy’s and I need a pair for my class reunion next weekend back home.
Tata for now.

I just finished watching that stupid movie “P.S. I Love You”… which, actually isn’t all that stupid… it’s really pretty good if you’re a girl like me who tends to like sappy romantic movies…
Anyway, I’m going to be alone forever. I’m 38.
I hate this. It sucks.

Yea… right… seriously, you thought it would be about Eharmony??? Yea, friends… get off your crack.
My exciting news from last night… I placed my first IV in a human, LIVE person!!!!
Kinda exciting when I see blood in a needle after I stick someone. That momentary “flash” is a good thing…
Other than that.. nothing exciting… Bears won, Colts won… all in all … a good couple of days.
Now.. I’m off to Costco… Unfortunately, I started reading the “Twilight” series & now I’m hooked. Costco has the books for $6 apiece.
Ta-ta for now.

The slightly geeky Comcast guy left a little bit ago (and, yes… it was a different Comcast guy than before). I am now typing this post on my own computer… I don’t yet have a desk chair to go with my new IKEA desk… so, I’m sitting on a slightly flattened fake leather Target ottoman. My iTunes still doesn’t work for some odd reason… I’ll have to try in the future to get an appt at the local Apple store to see what the problem is. Also, I need to buy a new mouse… mine for some reason isn’t working all that well.
Now that I have the Internet… I suppose I’ll try to post more frequently. But, seriously, NOTHING is happening here. NOTHING.
I worked last night. Got home at 9am… slept until 11.30… got up & unpacked a few more boxes. I’m still not completely unpacked… even though this place is larger and extremely newer than my old place… I don’t have a lot of storage space… so, I still need to get rid of a lot of crap.
Last night at work was my first night not being supervised… I was totally on my own and I think I did OK. Night shift has to do all the blood draws for labs… only 1 of my patients needed blood drawn. I went into his room at 3am with another nurse (I’m still not confident in my blood drawing skills yet). I got him on my first try…. yippy. I still haven’t tried to start an IV yet. Night shift can be fun… We played tag all night… And, at 7am the person who was “it” had to do something embarrassing… well, you’ll NEVER guess who was “it” at 7am… yep… it was me. We had a staff meeting at 7.30… so, the joke was that I needed to cough at least 30 times during the meeting…. I think I got 1/2 way there. It was kinda funny.
OK.. that’s all I got… I’m off to Trader Joes… I have NO FOOD AT ALL IN THIS HOUSE!!!

My life right now…. boring. Unexciting. Blah.
My job is my life right now… which I hate.
I’m at my parents’ house in Chicago for the weekend (which, technically ended yesterday…but I don’t have to work until tomorrow night–Tuesday) and typing this on their computer. If all goes well, I will have Internet access of my own by Wednesday… Comcast is supposed to come and install..wouldn’t it be funny if it was the same cable guy as before. That would be weird (but, it would make for a fun blog post).
I am officially off orientation. I have no one following me around or checking up on me.. which, they haven’t been doing for the past couple of weeks.
Work is getting better. The nights go so fast. I know on some floors (namely where I used to work in Philly) the nights were slow and boring and tedious trying to stay awake. Here it is anything but slow.
Friday was 9/11. I took a deep breath and was brave and headed to a bar by myself. It actually was a fundraiser for the Indianapolis Fireman’s Association (for the survivor fund). It was at the oldest restaurant in Indy.. a German place. It was in their beer garden in the back… it was live music and tons of people. No one talked to me… I didn’t try to talk to anyone (too scared). I moved around every so often with my cup of Smithwicks in hand. It was a fun night… the bands were good to listen to… although again, I realized that I know NO ONE in town.
I miss the East Coast horribly. I miss Philadelphia. I miss certain peeps.. I don’t miss my old church. Which is a horrible statement I know..but it’s the truth.
The thing about Indy.. it’s dirt cheap to live here.. which is nice. It’s allowing me to sock away money for a rainy day. I’m not afraid about having enough to live off of & paying off my student loans.
Maybe I have to give it more time… I’ve only been here for 2 1/2 months.
Good news: Got tickets to the Swell Season. They are coming to Indianapolis on 11/2. I’m so evangelical when it comes to these guys. They are hands down.. the best live band I have ever seen.
That’s about it for now.
T00ts.
