It feels like a Saturday…

I’ve been off all day and for most of it I’ve been thinking it’s Saturday & the Superbowl is tomorrow. Thankfully, it’s not and I still have tomorrow which is totally, utterly dedicated to studying. My test next week is on Critical Care management. These are all the fun conditions that are kinda rare… V. interesting. But, very complex…

Tonight I’m going to see “New in Town”.. a total chick flick that’s probably not any good…but it has Harry Connick, Jr in it..who is as close to perfection as they come (yes, LOVE Harry Connick…  almost as much as Jeffrey Donavan..so, I guess I have TWO Hollywood crushes).

I’m taking my car in on Monday to get fixed. I’m giving up my beloved Mazda for a nice Ford Focus for a few days. I think I’ll survive.

That’s about it from here… Kinda boring. Sunday is the Superbowl and I’ll be making my Chicken Tortilla Soup. It’s lovely..cooks in the crock pot for 6 hours & the smell is amazing. So, if you’re in Media… stop on by!

Random Facts…

A post is going around on Facebook about 25 Random Facts about yourself… I’m not sure if I have 25 more random facts about me since I have been writing this blog for so long… I might be a boring person to you all. So, it might not be 25… it might be closer to 10 (and, forgive me if some are repeats…).

(these are in no order… just as i think of them).

1. Favorite TV show right now: “Friday Night Lights”

2. Favorite TV show when I was really young: “Voyagers” w/ John Eric Hexum (it was a really cool show about time travel… only lasted 1 season)

3. I met Marc Singer from “V” and Cliff Robertson while skiing in Utah in 8th grade. I have pictures somewhere to prove it.

4. Obama is on TV right now… still don’t like hearing his voice as President (there, I said it.)

5. I don’t like people who lie at all. Not even a little bit. I can tell when someone is being false. It’s a blessing and a curse.

6. Conversely, if you ask me a direct question, be ready for a direct answer. I won’t lie to you either. You don’t want to know what I think..then don’t ask me.

7. After 3 semesters & 2 weeks of nursing school… I stil feel it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life (even though it’s hell at times).

8. Still scared shitless that I won’t ever get married.

9. I swear. Sometimes a lot.

10. The fake “porno” scene in Love Actually is actually the most normal relationship portrayed in that movie. Watch it again. You’ll see.

11. Still don’t like pancakes. Probably never will.

12. I’m a lot more introverted since my heart surgery. I think it’s because everybody knew my business for 48 days. When I pooped made the national news.

13. I miss having dinner parties.

14. I spent $119 on my Orla Kiely bag. No regrets.

15. I’m still trying to figure out what God has in store for me. Right now… I’m kinda ticked off at him… we don’t talk much like we used to.

16. I want a pet when I get my “grown up” job. I’m thinking a cat…

17. My only pet growing up was a hamster. That lasted 6 months. She ate one of my brother’s hamster’s babies.

18. I prefer a cold vacation spot to a hot one anyday (ie.. Skiing over swimming with the dolphins).

19. I wish I was more of a “foodie”

20. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to see myself as attractive. Plain is more like it.

21. I want to run through a field of tulips in Holland.

22. Jeffrey Donavan from “The Burn Notice” is my new Hollywood crush.

23. I’ve had 3 patients ask if I’m pregnant.

24. I think I might actually buy a major furniture piece from IKEA which would then void my previous rule of NEVER buying anything over $50 at IKEA.

25. I cry during national disasters..even when they are faked.. like on today’s rerun episode of “The West Wing.”

Thursday Night…

I changed the profile picture… I was tired of looking at myself (because I have realized that I need to get my eyebrows waxed..they are getting too bushy). The new picture is from Dublin. It’s the fountain (well.. the TOP of the fountain) in St. Stephen’s Square (or some saint.. can’t quite remember).

Week 2 of school is over. Only 15 more to go. My weeks fly by…I can’t believe that tomorrow is Friday already. It’s just going to be a 3 day study weekend for me again… I might go see a movie on Saturday afternoon… not sure yet. I would like to see Frost/Nixon.

I got an interesting card in the mail today… It was a discount card for $100 off my Cellcept medication. It’s one of the immune suppressant drugs that I take for my heart transplant. When I was transplanted someone signed me up for this group with the pharm company that makes Cellcept (Roche labs?)…Anyway, I’m going to try and see if my mail order company will take it for my next order…. Who knows? It might actually work.

I booked my trip for Spring Break this year… I’m going to Quebec again to see my friends…but this time I’m flying into Montreal rather than drive up there. UGH… $212 is well worth the time saved (9+ hours in the car).

Tonight is LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait…but I need to study ABG first.

Watched all the hoopla yesterday. I think another reason I’m upset at the Left is that they just flat out disrespect the office of the Presidency if someone they don’t like is holding that office. I hated MSNBC for showing people singing the song that they sing when the White Sox win a game to shoo the other team off the field (they showed this as Bush was leaving DC). He was your President for better or worse for 8 years. He tried his best. It’s always easier playing Monday morning quarterback when the football isn’t in your hands. He was not & is not a dumb man. Someone on Facebook said “I’m so glad that intelligence is in again”….  It was never away.. I don’t like Obama…but I don’t think he is stupid and I will not disrespect him. He won 53% to 47%… so, there is still a heck of a lot of people out there he needs to convince that he is doing what is right… I guess we are the stupid 47% who have no clue.

Ok… off my soap box… need to study because LOST starts tonight.. Ooops… already said that.

24 hour bugs are crazy. I feel totally fine now. Weird.

Sick

I caught something last night. I was working and starting have weird stomach cramps towards the end of my shift….After I transported my last patient at 11.15p I was coming back down in the elevator when I started having massive dry heaves. I clocked out and got it  home…but the whole night I was in the bathroom…  I think I visited it about 10x last night. The Big “D”… UGH. I’ve lost 4 pounds… the only good thing… but the bad thing… I have clinical today and don’t know if I can make it through an 8 hour shift.

I haven’t had anything to eat… just 7-up.

Last time this happened.. I was in the hospital for 5 days.

Blah.
