This whole week I have been brewing about my checkbook. I had over a $100 discrepancy and couldn’t figure out where the error was. You all (well, the nine of you) must understand. I. Have. Never. Bounced. A. Check. NEVER. I have never paid a bill late, etc. I think I have great credit… I don’t know what it is…but insurance people seem to love me. Anyways, it always scares me when something like this happens…
So… even though I have a huge test tomorrow morning… I sat down to find the error. And, yep. It’s official. I’m losing my mind. I was off by $139. I wrote a deposit down for $100 MORE than I deposited… and then forgot to write down the $39 when I bought my weekly SEPTA pass last week. UGH. Oh, well… at least I know now what’s going on…
I missed most of Anatomy class this afternoon… namely because I was sound asleep. We are studying the heart… I love cardiac stuff… anyway, thankfully my teacher is a gem… I apologized to him and he was totally cool.
Ok.. nothing else to write…. “Lost” tomorrow night… :O) Can’t wait!!!
Bye.

I think it’s been a week since I last wrote here… I can’t remember. School has been insane this past week. I have my first huge test on Thursday morning on the respiratory system… So, my days and nights have been filled with pneumonia, COPD, asthma, head & neck cancer, etc… I know v. happy stuff that I study sometimes.
Honestly, nothing totally exciting to report. Looking forward to the new season of “LOST” that begins on Thursday… thankfully it’s after my test… so, I can relax on Thursday night.
Told you… you’re not missing much… very boring life I lead.
Hope all is well in your neck of the world (even if it’s New Jersey!)

Oh Comcast..Oh Comcast. Isn’t having only one cable company in town considered a monoply? Aren’t those illegal? Oh Comcast… Oh Comcast… why do you vex me so? All I long for is news. Jeopardy. House, MD. A football game now and then. Why oh why can’t you comply? I dutifully pay my money every month. I’m proud to say I’ve never been late. So… oh why comcast why… do you vex me so?
Ok.. now that I got that off my chest… As promised… a new picture so you don’t have look at me anymore… because I’m sure it was scaring some of you away (well, the 8 readers who are left…thanks for sticking around). The new picture could be Ireland… but it’s not. It’s the cliff walk in Newport, Rhode Island. Great place to go. Totally recommend it.
Today was a tiring day, but a great one. Got to see some cool stuff. Hospitals are such interesting places…
Five other random things:
1. V. sad to hear that Heath Ledger died. Total waste.
2. Wouldn’t it be cool if the Giants won the Superbowl? I don’t think it’s going to happen…but what if?
3. I think I hate Nutrition class (***please note, the author, by making this statement, is aware of the importance of nutrition… the author is just not fond of studying it right at this very minute***)
4. I want a hot dog.
5. I just ate 4 cookies. In. a. row.
Ta-ta for now.

So… it’s strangely quiet here. My cable TV is out. I usually have the morning news shows on or whatever movie TBS might be playing. This is a horrible time for the cable to be out… and, of course, Comcast was no help at all. They used the canned answer “well, there is no service outage in your area, blah, blah, blah….” I was too tired last night to really care… Tonight is the Brett Favre/Eli Manning matchup… I’m hoping I can crash at someone else’s house to watch the game. I know… I shouldn’t care this much about a stupid football game… but, I do. It’s Brett Favre!!!
Nothing else horribly exciting to report. I stayed in all of yesterday to study. Didn’t leave my place once… I probably did more fooling around then actual reading…but I got a good majority of stuff accomplished.
Oh.. I’m sure you all were wondering… I did find my beloved red filofax… it was buried under a couple of blankets.
That’s it… now you may go back to your ultra exciting lives!

The new picture header is from Saturday’s Beef & Beer fundraiser for school. I’m in the purplish shirt. I still can’t figure out how to post pictures w/i my posts. It’s sooo darn frusterating. And, it’s not a mac thing…I think it’s a wordpress thing….but ultimately it’s a “leslie” thing b/c I know it works for other people.
My friends & classmates in the picture are Sylvia, Angela, & then Keisha. A fun time was had by all. Enjoy the picture.. I’ll be taking it down in a week & replacing it with some other pretty landscape picture.

I think I lost it. My beloved filofax. I have looked up and down for the last 30 minutes and I can’t remember where I put it. Granted it’s only the 16th day of the year… but it has EVERYTHING IN IT. EVERYTHING. CC numbers, frequent flyer numbers, MD numbers… EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And, I’m especially fond of this planner because it’s the one I bought in London at Harrods. It’s red smooth Italian leather and was just starting to look a litttle broken in.
Hmmm… let me try the car now.
Ta-ta. That’s it.

When I first started nursing school I kept seeing “nosocomial” pop up in my textbooks. I refused to look it up the first 20 or so times that I saw it. It’s such an interesting word to say. Basically, it’s an old fashioned word for hospital aquired infections (or “HAI”). So, long story short… you DO NOT want to get a nosocomial infection. Or… maybe you do…because then you can sue your hospital…but please, don’t.
Wait… I’m missing American Idol as I type this… so, I best make it quick. (my dad just called to remind me the auditions shown tonight are the ones from Philly….total craziness…doesn’t my dad have BETTER things to do than watch AI?)
1. I’m at Jefferson now for clinicals. Oh. My. Gosh. My first two days were better than the whole semester at Methodist. I ran around all day today. I loved every minute of it. Wasn’t bored in the least. Honestly, I thought the way we were treated at Methodist was the norm. It so wasn’t. We were welcomed on the floor today. We were included. Totally night and day. I can’t wait to go back next week.
2. To my reader Scott… I don’t think sex will help me sleep better… I think that’s what you were refering to earlier..right? :O)
3. Saw a half-way decent movie last night… “The Great Debaters” starring Denzel Washington. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised. I cried a few times.
4. Ok. That’s it. Nothing else to report… Now I’m going to watch the crappy auditions from Philly.

Tomorrow is a 4.15am wake up call. I’ll be catching the train at 5.39am to get to the city with enough time to be there by 7. There’s a train that leaves Media at 6.11am…but it doesn’t arrive at Market East until 6.57….. 3 minutes is not enough time to allow to be at the hospital by 7. There is no room for error or pokiness on my part (or Septa’s for that matter). I could drive…but again… gas & the cost of parking…
I’m not looking forward to going back. Yes, I know… my attitude has just done a complete 360 from the last time I commented on starting school. I feel like I have to get back into the game as an unwilling participant.
Ok… the countdown has begun. 7 weeks until Spring break. March 2, 2008 I’ll be flying to Seattle. I can do this.
Hopefully, my upstairs neighbors won’t be busy tonight so I can get some sleep.

To my upstair neighbors: I’m sure you are very much in love… but please finish quickly because the noise is keeping me up at this late hour.
That’s it.

Oh Scott… who is this person who has graced this blog site with his presence???? “Navel oranges or sweet clementines?” Quite hilarious.
Speaking of oranges, I had a huge sunkist orange for dinner tonight (plus some leftover Chinese food & some chocolate & probably some Triscuits.. oh.. & the current Diet Coke I’m slowly drinking down).
The proper size cannot yet be determined…but much larger than sweet clementines. I did see the doc today for my follow up appt. Everything is going as scheduled. I was given permission to finally take a shower & at 5pm today I did just that… I. LOVE. CLEAN. HAIR. My hair was sooooooo greasy… icky…. icky… ugh.
Other random things worth mentioning…
1. Roger Clemens. I so don’t know what to think of one of my baseball heros. I think I have been blind. I’ve been reading up on his situation a lot today and he’s looking so guilty. Especially w/ all of his swearing in public…
2. Tomorrow I’m going to a bar by myself for the first time EVER. I’m seeing a friend play guitar. Can women go to bars by themselves? What do I do? Just go the bar, order a beer, and sit there???? I’m usually ok by myself…but I’m not sure I will be in a place so social.
3. Breaking down and buying a new printer tomorrow. I so need one.
Ok.. that’s about it.
Ta-ta.
