Too much of a good thing…

is too much of a good thing.

I had the fine opportunity to meet two different friends for two different meals. First I met an old co-worker for lunch in Center City. We went to El Vez on 13th & Sansom. Chips, salsa made w/ cactus & crab meat, an amazing pot of tortilla soup, and finally the mahi-mahi tacos… I didn’t think I could eat anymore today. But no… tonight I drove to KOP to meet another friend for dessert and coffee at the Cheesecake Factory (disclaimer… it wasn’t our first choice…but the original coffeeshop we were going to go to closed at 8pm… which is ridiculously early!). So, when in Rome.. order food like the Romans… so, I ordered a piece of white chocolate raspberry truffle and ate all of it.

I’m feeling very piggish tonight… Oink, Oink..Oink…

In other news…
1. Very sad about Barbaro. The thing I loved about the vet treating him… he never sugarcoated Barbaro’s condition. Every step of the way…he gave the good w/ the bad.
2. I have amazing friends. I’m very blessed. The people I hung out today & this evening with are two VERY different people… they probably wouldn’t have more than one polite conversation with each other…and I think that’s why I like them so much…because they are different. Does that make sense? Probably not… I’m lapsing into a food coma…
3. Patiently waiting for 10pm… so, I can rewind my videotape (not cool enough to have TIVO) to watch tonight’s episode of “24″. My Monday evening pleasure.
4. Book recommendation: I was flying somewhere and a guy next to me was reading this book.. so, I wrote the title down and finally bought it a few weeks ago. The title is “Polio: An American Story” by David Oshinsky. Totally interesting… story tells about the formation of the March of Dimes.. the race to find a vaccine… etc.. Not at all a boring.

Ok.. that’s it.
